2. Why does Ruth stay with Norman?
Could there be some kind of psychological things going on in the relationship? There has to be something deeper down inside for her reasoning of not leaving. She must want to go do something else besides staying and dealing with Norman. I know she probably want to have a house with furniture and have actual glasses instead of Styrofoam cups. Ruth wants children and with Norman’s “pinks” having him destroy everything they have, they won’t be able to have a nursery and stuff because of him. She was thinking that he was going to kill her one day when he had one of his episodes. Even when she first was going to leave it couldn’t happen because he came home and caught her. She got sick and his “pinks” came at the same time, while she was in pain he was scraping his skin. In the end I think she still wants to leave but is scared that he might do something to her.
