Presentation on theme: "Creating Charts."— Presentation transcript:

1 Creating Charts

2 What charts do you need to create?
The requirements in the Brief (chart showing expenditure, income and profit forecast). What chart types of chart would you NOT use at this stage? e.g. Doughnut, Radar, Surface, Bubble, these are not appropriate for the Bags-4 audience and the purpose of making recommendations. What would be better?

3 Break-even The ‘break-even point’ is where Expenditure = Income.
Is this is something they feel would be appropriate to include in your presentation? Your chart needs to be detailed enough to show: units of ‘bags sold’, income, expenditure and profit. You should use your model to project profit at a number of levels of bags sold e.g. how much profit would I make if I sold….10? 20? 25? 50 bags?

4 In this lesson students are learning how to:
create graphical representation of numerical data

5 At the end of this lesson students will be able to:
create a data set for a chart select an appropriate type of chart create and format a chart

6 Example Your teacher will show you how to create a chart

7 Planning, creating and formatting an appropriate chart
Take 5 minutes to discuss, in pairs or small groups: what chart is best for ‘audience and purpose’ what figures you need and how to calculate them how and where to create them and the chart.

8 Task Based on your own spreadsheets, you should attempt to create an appropriate chart, including title and axis labels

9 Summary
