3. Car Competition
The class will be broken up into groups of 4-5 students.
Each student is a worker who is to be paid $5 per round.
Each set of scissors used cost $1 per round.
Each glue stick used cost $1 per round.
Each colored pencil costs $1 per round.
Each blank car sheet costs $1 per sheet.
Each completed car is worth $10.

4. Come up with a name for your car company.
Decide the tasks the people of your company will carry out.
Send 1 student up to purchase the materials you will need to make your cars.
We will begin the competition when all groups are ready.
Each round will be 10 minutes long
In between the two rounds we will discuss any changes you want to make and tally up your cars and pay your bills.

5. Advertisement
Using one of the cars you have built on the assembly line, along with your car company name and symbol, produce an advertisement for your car.
Ad should include the following
Your car company name, symbol, and car
Cost of the automobile
Slogan about your car
What is included in your car (ex. Type of engine, gas mileage, stereo)

6. In 1 – 2 paragraphs, write about how your car company did producing cars. What worked for your company? What didn’t work for your company? Would you recommend the activity for future classes?
