5 Assessment objective 1 Articulate creative, informed and relevant responses to literary texts, using appropriate terminology and concepts, and coherent, accurate written expression.

6 Assessment objective 2 Demonstrate detailed critical understanding in analysing the ways in which structure, form and language shape meanings in literary texts.

7 Assessment objective 3 Explore connections and comparisons between different literary texts, informed by interpretations of other readers.

8 Assessment objective 4 Demonstrate understanding of the significance and influence of the contexts in which literary texts are written and received.

9 Essay Question What is the significance of the opening letters? Explore with reference to form, language and structure.

10 Structuring your Paragraphs
Point: This is your thesis statement – your main point of discussion for the paragraph. Evidence: At A Level, your evidence should be embedded and you should use shorter, precisely chosen quotes from across the text. Explore: Detailed discussion and exploration of the features used and their affect. Link: Make a link to another part of the text, or another sub-point that links to your main idea. Further Evidence: Choose another piece of evidence to support your thesis. Explore: Analyse the evidence. Link to next paragraph: Make a connection to your next point so that your essay is fluent and your structure is coherent.
