Without loans businesses couldn’t get cash to keep doors opened
85,000 businesses failed by 1933

4. Poor are growing Businesses that stayed open cut employees
People with jobs started to earn less
12 million Americans out of a job by 1933
Fewer people could afford consumer goods causing more factories to close.
