Nutrition labels: how to Diabetic nutrition information Serving size Portion sizes - Make sure it matches what you eat - 1 can vs. ½ can carbohydrates - More carbs = higher sugar - More sugar = higher sugar - Fibre does NOT raise sugar, slows sugar rise Veggies – grains -- meats/fish -- fruits-- fats/oils Protein DAILY ACTIVITIES - Helps lower blood sugar - Slows blood sugar rise - Feel fuller, longer -Participating in daily activities: - diabetes complications - overall physical and mental health - get a partner or group, and have fun with it!!! OTHER EASY ACTIVITIES - Toe lifts - Neck stretches - Leg raises - Arm raises -Ankle rotation -Torso stretches Don’t deprive yourself. Everything in moderation.
