Volcanoes are opening’s in the Earth’s surface through which melted rock, hot gases, rock fragments, and ash erupt.
Volcanoes are so hot beneath the surface that rock melts. This melted rock is called MAGMA.

3. Volcanoes
The magma mixes with hot gases and travel to the earth’s surface. Once there is enough pressure from the hot gases, the magma erupts from the Volcano.
Once magma reaches the surface, it is called LAVA.

Gases, mostly steam but sometimes poisonous gases
Rock fragments
Ash, dust, large chunks are known as bombs.
Small bombs are called cinders
