Carbon can be found in both organic and inorganic things.
All living things contain carbon.
When organisms die, the carbon they contain can either be recycled by decomposers, or trapped in the earths crust

Cellular Respiration – living things releases CO2
Burning fossil fuels – gasoline, coal and oil release CO2
Deforestation – clear cutting of forestry reduces the number or green plants that can absorb CO2. Burning trees also releases CO2 into the atmosphere.
