Calculating Velocity
Velocity =Distance ÷ Time
Lauren swam 50 meters in 10 seconds. What was her speed?
What information do we have. Lets plug it in?
Speed = Velocity without direction (which we don’t know, so it becomes our variable “V”)
Distance = 50 meters
Time = 10 seconds
V = 50 m. ÷10 sec.
V=5 meters/second
