Ralph: The protagonist. Twelve-year-old boy who is elected to lead the group of boys who are stranded on the island.
Jack: The antagonist. Power-hungry and attempts to gain brutal control of the group.

3. Characters (2) Simon: A wholly good character, naturally moral.
Piggy: Ralph’s friend. Smart, but looked down upon by the other boys because he is fat. Represents the scientific side of society.

4. Characters (3)
Roger: Jack’s friend who acts out brutal deeds against the other boys.
Sam and Eric: Referred to as “Samneric,” twins who cannot seem to think outside themselves. Easily manipulated by Jack.
