Testing for Math & Reading March 12th – 23rd Grades 3 – 8 & 11

2 Strategy 1 for Answering Multiple Choice Questions:
Try to work the problem without looking at the answer choices. Once you have solved the problem, compare your answer with the answer choices. Hint: Cover up the answers & only look at the question.

3 Strategy 2 for Answering Multiple Choice Questions:
Eliminate answer choices you know are wrong. Then choose from the answers that are left.

4 Strategy 3 for Answering Multiple Choice Questions:
Some questions will be more difficult than others. The problem may require an extra step. Or, you may need to look for which answers do not apply. Hint: Do not spend too much time on one question. Come back to it if you have time.

5 Strategy 4 for Answering Multiple Choice Questions:
Even if you don’t know the answer, you can make a good guess based on what you know and get the question right. Hint: Do not leave any answers blank.

6 Strategy 5 for Answering Multiple Choice Questions:
Check and double-check your answers before you turn in your test. Be sure of your answers. Hint: Go back and check your work if you finish a section early. You may not go back to a section once they have moved on.
