2 Types of Questions: further breakdown
AP uses a stable of questions is uses and reuses Remember: total MC questions

3 General Questions These will be the first questions usually
Primary purpose: broad outline, overall comprehension Use POE always Overall character analysis Use POE Remember 1/15th wrong, all wrong Avoid extreme statements

4 Eight (usually) Detail Questions
Always will be the majority of questions Line Reference Single Phrase or Word questions Question Comprehension Questions Reread lines in questions +++ line before and line after Keep the main idea in mind always Use consistency of Answers whenever possible Use POE always

5 Style, Structure, and Tone Questions
Style: Tests understanding of kinds of sentences used (ex. loose or periodic) Structure: How is the passage constructed? (ex. Isolated incident followed by generalization) Tone/Attitude: Understanding of underlying emotion (word choice)

6 I,II,III Questions At least one for each passage
Usually over structural or stylistic devices Easily narrowed down to three choices

7 Grammar Questions Do not spend a lot of time studying grammar-review basics only Only one or two for whole test

8 Literary terms question
KNOW LIT TERMS OF ANALYSIS These terms will be thrown about all over the test KNOW YOUR TERMS…period

9 Final points and then practice question:
Pay very close attention to the wording of the question—rephrase in own words Expect a weird question or two Enhance your vocabulary---do Reader’s Digest vocabulary quizzes, read the dictionary, do a word of the day, befriend a thesaurus…just expand your vocabulary.
