In 1599 for Willian Shakespeare’s company 2-Where is it? In London,on the south side of the Thames river 3-What happened to the theatre? It was destroyed in a fire because it was made of wood and a second one was built but it was closed for the puritans 4-What were the Elizabethan theatres like? In 1949, San Wanamaker -- an American actor, director, and producer-- visited the site of the old Globe theatre, and the only tribute to Shakespeare was a plaque on the wall of a brewery. n 1970 he founded a Trust to reconstruct the theatre. 11-What happens if it rains?
