MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY

2
COURSE OVERVIEW Manufacturing processes are the steps through which raw materials are transformed into a final product. The manufacturing process begins with the creation of the materials from which the design is made. These materials are then modified through manufacturing processes to become the required part. Manufacturing processes can include treating (such as heat treating or coating), machining or reshaping the material. Manufacturing technology is a field of study, which is focused on improving manufacturing processes, equipment or technique in order to reduce costs and enhance reliability. It provides the tools which enables production of all processed goods.
3
COURSE OUTCOMES Explain the fundamentals of manufacturing technology applicable to industrial production processes. Determine the compatibility of manufacturing technology alternative with product specification for industrial processes. Perform basic manufacturing work as practiced by production industries. “Different product materials and shapes are produced using different manufacturing process and technology”
