1 Summer Feeding Program
June 3, 2013 through July 26, 2013

2 Where will our SFSP sites be held?
The following 10 schools will serve a hot breakfast and lunch each weekday during the months of June and July. Breakfast will be from 7:30-8: Lunch from 11:00-1:00 M.L.K. Elementary Morris Elementary Highlands Elementary Montview Elementary University Place Elementary McDonnell Elementary Chapman Middle School Lakewood Elementary Butler High School Johnson High School

3 The following 2 schools will serve a hot supper each weekday from 3:30 pm till 5:30 pm
Davis Hills Middle School Westlawn Middle School

4 Supper Feeding Sites Are Centrally Located with Regard to Breakfast & Lunch Sites

5 Who is eligible to eat at the Summer Feeding sites?
Any child ages 18 and under may eat free at any of the designated Summer Feeding schools.

6 Does the SFSP allow for adults to eat? If so, is there a charge?
Adults are allowed to eat if they are accompanied by a child. The price for adults to eat breakfast is $2.50. The price for adults to eat lunch or supper is $4.00. These are the normal prices charged for visitors during the school year.

7 What groups will we provide transportation to the Summer Feeding Program?
1, We will be busing 3 different groups of Extended Day children from one school to another (Goldsmith-Schiffman will go to Butler for Lunch) ( ) (Weatherly will go to Butler for Lunch) ( ) (Providence will go to University Place for Lunch) ( ) 2, We will be busing Westlawn and Davis Hills Middle School students to other schools for Lunch. Westlawn will go to McDonnell and Davis Hills will go to Lakewood. Both will return to their own schools and have Supper before leaving. 3, We will be busing Girls Inc. and the Richard Showers Recreation Center to Johnson for lunch ( students) 4, We will be busing one church to Johnson for lunch and another church to Davis Hills for supper ( students)

8 How many meals are we projecting at this point in time?

9 Who is going to pay for the various cost associated with the Summer Feeding Program?
The USDA Summer Feeding Program will pay for the cost of the food and the salaries of the Summer Feeding employees. Federal Programs and Extended Day will pay for the transportation cost. Federal Programs will also pay for the majority of the cost of security. If there are additional cost not mentioned above, finance will make the determination of which program is reponsible.

10 Has all departments corresponded to insure that we have a smooth operation?
We had an operational meeting two weeks ago at Dr. Wilson’s office, and will have a final meeting next Wednesay at 1:00 to make sure that all areas are covered. Dr. Wilson and his staff have done a fantastic job in making sure that all areas are staffed properly. The Summer Feeding Program will be a great example of what can be accomplished when all departments work together. It would not be possible without the vision of the Superintendent and the Board.
