Mirrors and Lenses chapter 14
By jahkese Hatcher

Plane mirrors A Mirror with smooth surfaces that reflect light to form images.

CONCAVE MIRROR Concave mirror, like plane mirror reflect light waves to form images The difference is that the curved surface of a concave mirror reflects light in a unique way

Convex lens A convex lens is thicker in the middle than ay the edges. Its optical axis is an imaginary straight line that is perpendicular to the surface of the lens and its thickest point

REAL IMAGE Areal image is formed when light rays converge to form the image. you could hold a sheet of paper at the location of a real image and see the image project on the paper.

CONVEX MIRROR A mirror that curves outward like the back of a spoon is called a convex mirror. light rays that hit the mirror diverge, or spread apart, after they are reflected.

VIRTUAL IMAGE The virtual image formed by a plane mirror is always upright and appears to be as far behind the mirror as the object is in front of it

CONCAVE LENS A lens such that a parallel beam of light passing through it is caused to diverge or spread out
