The moment she walks into the old country white house with the same broken screen doors she remembers, the world of school seems to fade away. She glances down the hallway where she took her first steps and up the stairs where the night of prom her dad couldn’t stop taking pictures of her. She slowly walks to the kitchen where she stares through the windows to the fields, she drops her purse to the ground, reaches over to find her pink cowboy hat where she left it, puts it on slowly while taking a deep filling breath and whispers “ I’m home.”
