1 6th LT – Today I will determine examples of figurative language through reading and discussion.
BR – What is the difference between a simile and a metaphor? Friday, December 7th, 2018

2 Kinesthetic Word Web Each of you will have a notecard with either:
A.) Vocabulary Word B.) Definition C.) Example You are to walk around, talk to people, and discover who has the cards that match your card. Ex – A vocabulary word, definition, and example pair. Once you find your group of three, stay with them and move to a part of the room. If people need help, you can help them!

3 Figurative Language Problems
Read the examples of figurative language 1.) Decide whether it is a simile, metaphor, personification, or hyperbole 2.) Explain how you figured out your answer in the boxes (at least a sentence)

4 Closing Create your own examples of similes and metaphors.

5 BR – Do you believe we should have zoos? Explain your reasoning.
