9 Response: Local Level Scenario 1:
A single college district has historically had a strong commitment to shared governance. The Board listens to faculty & staff groups as well as college president. The local Academic Senate has been increasingly more effective, especially when the leadership taps into ASCCC conversations and resources. Unfortunately, the senate becomes complacent and falls out of touch with state-wide ASCCC discussions. The college is confused on how and when to begin implementing SSTF recommendations. What processes are in place that could help deal with the scenario? What processes might be implemented or if already in place, improved? How would you put new processes into practice?

10 Response: Local Level Scenario 2:
Upon returning from the winter 2011 semester break a VPSS casually mentions that the “VPSS and counseling deans have been meeting over the break to discuss the SSTF enrollment priorities and how the district will need to change our Policies and Regulations to meet the SSTF report.” What processes are in place that could help deal with the scenario? What processes might be implemented or if already in place, improved? How would you put new processes into practice?

11 Questions What local committees or groups or individuals will be leading the way at YOUR college about these recommendations? CIO? Senate? President? Governance Committees? No one? Who should be involved?

12 Questions: What processes or policies do you already have in place that address specific recommendations? Implementation of prerequisites? What is the role of faculty in Enrollment Management? Are all decisions about FTE made by administrators alone, or are faculty involved?

13 Questions: How do you inform students of the best sequencing of courses? How will things play out at your college? Other ways to improve student success? Other Questions?
