9. Some things you may not know…
Your recyclables must be clean prior to putting them in the bin.
Contaminated items are not recycled
Lids must be removed from bottles and jars
Only the lids of takeaway coffee cups can be recycled as the cup itself is lined with soft plastic
Shredded paper cannot be recycled
If the plastic item returns to shape when scrunched it can be considered hard plastic
