1 Developing a Biblical Worldview in an increasingly skeptical world
Opening This morning, is the launch of a new theme/ direction. This morning, I will answer 3 questions: Where are we going? Why are we going there? How will we get there? Developing a Biblical Worldview in an increasingly skeptical world

2 What is a worldview? The way we view, interpret and interact with the world. Where are we going? Developing a biblical worldview in an increasingly skeptical world.

3 What is a Biblical worldview?
“A Biblical worldview is thinking like Jesus. It’s a way of making our faith practical to every situation we face each day. A biblical word view is a way of dealing with the world such that we act like Jesus 24 hours a day because we think like Jesus (Barna)”

4 What is a Biblical worldview?

5 The Crossroads Why are we going there?
Examples of crossroads in our every day life: Exercising self- control and remaining faithful to your spouse in a world saturated by sex. Being patient in a world of immediate gratification Demonstrating love in a world of selfishness and self-gratification Willing to be held accountable in a world that says it’s all about you. Practicing generosity in a world where there is never enough. Transition: Crossroads aren’t always an easy place to be.

6 4 way stops A very frustrating and potentially dangerous place. Rules: 1st come, 1st served Yield to the right Straight over turning Right over left

7 Absorption of Biblical Story
Western story (Bible bits) Unless we develop a Biblical worldview then we end up living out a fragmented version of His story in the midst of the western story. Modern, postmodern humanism

8 WESTERN STORY GOAL: MATERIAL PROSPERITY Jesus: Dead & Risen Saved
by faith in Jesus Triune God God created world Humans are sinners
