3 The 5-fold path to GCSE Nirvana
Be here: Good attendance is the first step towards GCSE results that will open doors for you. Be involved: See yourself as someone you are responsible for helping. Get prepared: Research shows that children who get into a routine with homework and revision are significantly more successful at GCSEs. Retrieval practice: . In the GCSE years, you need to be in a regular state of low-key revision, preparing revision materials, testing yourself, practicing questions etc. Balance : Copious amounts of work, without a sharp focus or a clear outcome in mind, is a waste of time. Do you respond to feedback from teachers? Are you just doing things that are easy? Do you allow your self to struggle? Do you learn from mistakes?

4 Spaced practice  Set aside a bit of time every day, just for studying, even if your exams are months away. This may seem strange at first, if you are used to cramming right before an exam; but it’s just a new habit that you will get used to if you persevere.
