2 Four Illegitimate Questions on
An illegitimate question is one that does not allow you to answer with the whole truth. Perhaps it doesn’t give the right answer as an option, or it makes you choose between options that are equally valid, or it makes related important truths seem unimportant. Consider four such questions asked by those who wish to diminish the importance of obedience in salvation. Salvation, Grace & Obedience

3 What is the Source of Salvation – God, grace or obedience?
God Himself is the source of salvation (Psalm 3:8; 62:1; Isaiah 12:1-3; Luke 3:6; Acts 28:28; Philippians 2:28) Grace is the channel God has chosen to deliver salvation (Titus 2:11; Acts 15:11; Ephesians 2:8) Faith & Obedience are the channel through which we respond to God’s grace (Romans 5:2; Hebrews 5:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Peter 3:21)

4 for all of these reasons!
Do WE OBEY GOD THROUGH FEAR, RESPONSE TO GRACE, OR Just because? We obey God for all of these reasons! Fear (Hebrews 12:28; Eccl. 12:13) Grace (Titus 2:11-14) Just because (Exodus 5:2)

5 Do we serve god because we are saved or in order to be saved?
Yes! We serve God because we have been saved by His grace (Hebrews 9:14; Romans 6:17-18) We serve God to be saved (1 Thessalonians 1:9; Mark 13:13)

6 On a scale of 1 t0 10, how perfect do we have to be to receive grace?
There are no degrees of perfection – a thing is either perfect or it isn’t! Grace is not based on perfection at all. It was offered to the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:14-15) It is not offered according to our works (2 Timothy 1:9) Every Christian should be striving for perfection (Matthew 5:48; 2 Cor. 7:1; Peter 5:10)
