2 Why are we doing this work?
A strategic plan will define our direction, help to shape decisions on resource allocations, and guide individual actions and organizational change toward our vision for the future. Guiding Question: How can we transform SD73 to meet the ever-changing needs of our students, staff, and community to meet an unknown future? 2 2

3 Building on our Success
Not starting from scratch Expand on the many great things that our students, staff, and administration are already doing. Celebrate our successes and learn from our attempts that have not worked as well. 3 3

4 What is the work? Frame: Determining what needs to be accomplished and setting parameters for success Discover: Inviting perspectives of our many constituents to determine what we do well, what we can do better, and what they expect from of us in the future Define: Identifying a set of shared values around which our vision and mission will be built. Setting organizational goals and a theory of change (i.e., the way in which we need to change to realize our vision of the future). Plan: How will our values and vision be reflected and realized in the things we do in: Teaching and learning Human capital Operations Programs Etc. 4 4

5 Vision: What an organization aspires to become in the future.
Terminology Vision: What an organization aspires to become in the future. Mission: Defines the work we do as an organization. Goal(s): Statements of changes in outcomes Theory of Action: The premise on which the change from current state to future state (vision) is articulated. Logic Model: This is the array of resources and action steps/activities that should yield the expected outcomes per the theory of action. Strategies: These are specific methods applied to executing the logic model. Action steps/Activities: A (detailed) description of the steps it will take to execute the strategy. Outputs: These are deliverables along the pathway (e.g., established guidelines for staff meetings) and are considered evidence of action steps. The focus of an output is on the activity. Outcomes: These are the long-term end goals that are predicted to occur as a result of the strategies applied consistently. 5

Mission: We connect each learner to their future by transforming the way all partners collaborate to create innovative learning environments. 6 6

Theory of Change: SD 73 will achieve excellence and equity for each learner by focusing on organizational and instructional innovation, meaningful collaboration with all partners, and the fostering of an inclusive culture that values diversity. 7

Learning: To ensure each student acquires foundational skills and core competencies through evidence-based practices. Personalize: To connect each student to their passions by personalizing their learning. Culture: To foster an inclusive, adaptable, and accountable district culture. Partnerships: To strengthen community partnerships to enhance the way we lead, learn, and work together. 8 8
