When we find the percent of a number, we change the percent to a decimal and multiply by the base, or whole amount
Example: What is 12% of 200
Step 1 Change the percent to a decimal
Step 2 Change “of” to multiplication X
Step 3 Multiply by the base, or whole amount

A flat screen Sony Bravia is on sale for 30% off the regular price. The regular price is $900. What is the sale price of the TV?
