Our vision of Leith “A clean and vibrant place where nothing is wasted” Feasibility Feb – April 2017 Project start Nov 2017 1 Year into 2.5yr project

3 Why Leith? Cat; “People love Leith, they’re proud of it and working for positive change is really important.” Densely populated area, North of Edinburgh Strong community identity population - long-standing residents and more recent young professionals and migrants. Longstanding Industrial Heritage - number of deprived areas but also areas of gentrification Good mix of shops, schools, businesses, community groups, third sector organisations, and regular local events. Changeworks has been based in Leith for 30 years – networks/partnerships Know Leith well and believe the community will embrace transformational change. Zero Waste Leith boundary not fixed: anyone who identifies themselves as a Leither is welcome to engage with the project.
