Used on class A fires Extinguishes by reducing temperature Fire Extinguishers

4 EXTINGUISHING AGENT Foam
Used on class A and B fires Extinguishes by reducing temperature and smothering Fire Extinguishers

5 EXTINGUISHING AGENT Halon
Used on class B and C fires Extinguishes by interrupting the chemical chain reaction Fire Extinguishers

6 EXTINGUISHING AGENT Carbon Dioxide
Used on class B and C fires Extinguishes by displacing the oxygen and smothering the fire Fire Extinguishers

denotes the class of fire on which extinguisher can be used may have multiple ratings Numerical rating only given for class A and B extinguishers denotes the relative extinguishing potential of the extinguisher 10A will extinguish ten times as much fire as 1A 10B will extinguish ten times as much fire as 1B Fire Extinguishers
