There is one standard by which men will be judged
We do try to be as close to that standard as possible

Cults tend to cut their people off from society, and govern them in the strictest of fashions.
Cults are typically very dangerous and difficult to leave.

The only leader that we offer allegiance to is Jesus Christ
We do not participate in, nor believe in the observance of sacraments, or any form of mysticism

YOU FORCE PEOPLE TO CONFORM TO CHURCH OF CHRIST DOCTRINE IN ORDER TO BE SAVED
There is no standard formalized “Church of Christ Doctrine”
We may express the views of this congregation, but Book, Chapter, and Verse is the only standard
We acknowledge that we are human and prone to make mistakes and if we find, we are not in harmony with that pattern, we will gladly make whatever changes needed to follow that pattern.

14. YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

“all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable…”
To say that one does not believe in the Old Testament is to say one does not believe God’s word.
We do believe that we have been given a new law different from that given in the Old Testament (Hebrews 8:7-13)

15. YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR SALVATION

No, absolutely not - Eph 2:8-9
No man can obligate God to anything. God alone has the power to save us. - Titus 3:5
However, a person must obey God’s commandments in order to be pleasing to Him.
God can put conditions on grace and it will still be grace.

This is a simplistic and prejudicial statement
The Bible clearly teaches one can fall from grace so as to be lost - Heb 6:4-6; 10:26-30
Anyone can compare their life to the divine standard and know confidently what their position is before God (James 1:22-25).
Therefore we can live in confidence if we will just be obedient to Him.
