Compensation Pay for Performance GF (E & HE) = $1,048 Pay for Perf E = $1,049 Pay for Perf HE = $1,415 State of Florida Scholarship/SJCSD Match (BOTH PSC & ANNUAL contract) ALL Highly Effective = $1200 All Effective = $800 This match means that ALL Instructional Personnel (classroom AND non-classroom) will get this bonus

Articles XVI (Compensation) and XVI (Supplements)
Article XVI (Compensation): Includes raise for GF, PE, and PHE on previous slide. ALL Professional Development is to be considered voluntary unless otherwise stated in writing. SJEA agreed to 0.75% increase to medical insurance (approx. $ PER YEAR increase). Article XVI (Supplements): Negotiated new supplements for coaching and club positions. New supplements are shaded in the article for ease of viewing.

Article XX Professional Employee Assessment
Contract language changes: Feedback to any professional employee assigned a score below Applying is now due within 10 days via the observation tool. Professional employees will be offered a minimum of 6 hours of training on the evaluation system annually. The EEE committee meets twice annually. Now, a third EEE committee meeting may be called by either SJEA or SJCSD each year. Unless restricted by law, the district will include weighting factors when calculating student performance achievement (data score).

Sick leave incentive: Beginning September 1st (this MOU excludes August), instructional personnel will be paid $100 for each earned but unused day of sick leave.

Sick leave incentive: The leave incentive MOU is only valid for the school year. Previously earned leave time will not be affected. Sick leave payout at retirement will not be affected. This is not a buy-back, sell-back, or opt-in program. It is simply a bonus payment for unused leave days. Unused sick days will be cumulative. Unused sick days will not be taken away or penalized.

Sick leave incentive continued: TDE, jury duty, and military leave are excluded from this MOU. Don’t need a sub for your position? You still earn the money. MOU allows for a maximum of 9 leave days with a value of $100 per day. Maximum amount $900. You still earn 10 days every year, but since August is over, the incentive this year applies to 9 days. The payments will be made at two times during the school year- one payment to reflect unused days from September-November (up to $300) and one payment to reflect unused days from December -May (up to $600).

New Teacher Optional Summer Training: Language allowing employees to attend training in the summer and flex the time, along with any from the optional pre planning day to a future planning day. (Up to 7.5 hours)

Annual Contract Instructional Personnel: Teachers non-reappointed for budget – shall receive interviews for all vacancies they apply for and are qualified (does not apply to Associate Teachers).

St. Johns Technical High School: $2500 incentive pay (half paid in Fall, half in Spring). 7th Period Supplement: Middle & High School professional employees teaching a 7th period will receive $3,000 per semester (Co-teachers receive $1,600 per semester). FCTC is exempt.

St. Johns Virtual School: SJEA and SJCSD agreed to form a committee to address active student loads and other working conditions unique to the virtual school environment. The committee will consist of four members from SJEA and four members from SJCSD, will meet monthly, and will begin in September.

STEM supplement: $980 supplements (in part from a grant) to teachers coaching the STEM2HUB Clubs. Insurance spousal fee: Employees with a spouse on their insurance plan will pay a $35 fee per pay period IF the spouse is offered insurance through an employer-sponsored plan outside of SJCSD. This MOU is not new; it has been in effect. Working lunch: Addresses hourly rate for “Working Lunch” voluntary instruction, previously piloted at Pacetti Bay.

Ratification Voting information
Principals will place a copy of the complete Tentative Agreements in the office of each school for teacher review by September 11th. Principals will forward the complete Tentative Agreements to all professional employees. Ratification voting is Monday, September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th. See your building rep for details. ALL teachers are eligible to vote.

What happens after Voting?
If teachers ratify with a majority YES vote: If teachers do not ratify due to a majority NO vote: The SJCSD School Board will vote to ratify at their October meeting. All MOUs and Tentative Agreements in this presentation go into effect immediately after SB ratification. Retro pay will be included in a future pay check. State of Florida Scholarships are slated to be paid to Districts in April, so will be paid to employees in April/May The contract does not ratify. All TA’s & MOUs do NOT go into effect, and must be bargained again.
