Modern statistics act (NSO mandate to access data for statistical purposes only, trust among other NSS stakeholders, statistics as public good) Culture of data sharing within the NSS and the private sector (political economy, fear, data as a source of power) Other related legislations impact statistics legislations (issue of ‘counter acts’ like privacy acts, digital economy acts)

5 Which measures should NSSs take to overcome the challenges identified?
Revisit/review regulations on a regular basis (data/statistics). Strengthen general provisions in the statistical legislation Memorandum of understanding (partnerships with other data actors, incentives) Building trust and demonstrating trustworthiness

6 Provide brief explanations on how the suggested solutions can be implemented
Technology to leverage data sharing Communication and engagement Investment: strong data security (process, systems) and capacity building
