3 Issue #1: The Homeless Veteran

4 According to the National Survey of Homeless Assistance Providers and Clients, veterans account for 23% of all homeless people in America.   2008 The Survey was taken in 1999 - 1999 9 YEARS AGO

5 What’s the problem here?
Accurate numbers are impossible to come by– No one keeps national records on homeless veterans. The VA estimates that nearly 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.

6 Your Heroes. Your Streets.

7 Issue #2: The Healthcare “Benefits”

8 “VA undersecretary for health Robert Roswell said everyone who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom is entitled to two years of VA health care benefits. And the benefits are available to those wounded in combat as well as those injured in accidents or who suffer illnesses.” -Lolita C. Baldor Associated Press

9 Veterans Benefits are eligible at VA Clinics.
Sometimes getting an appointment at a VA clinic takes months at a time & the service…oh the service.
