New Criticism was a formalist movement in literary theory that dominated American literary criticism in the middle decades of the 20th century.
Anglo American: The term implies a relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom (specifically England), or the two countries' shared language, English, and/or cultural heritage
Focuses on critical attention and literature itself
Practical Criticism or close reading
Literary text Is treated as a self sufficient verbal artifact
