2 National Teaching Fellowship Award
Outline of Award: The National Teaching Fellowship scheme celebrates and recognises individuals who have made an outstanding impact on student outcomes and the teaching profession in Higher Education

3 Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence
Outline of Award The Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) recognises and rewards collaborative work that has had a demonstrable impact on teaching and learning. Introduced in 2016, the scheme highlights the key role of teamwork in higher education.

4 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA NTFS:
All HE providers in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland are eligible to apply Part-time, Full-time and non permanent staff are all eligible to apply A nominee should be a fellow of the HEA Staff working for a UK HE Provider at an overseas campus will also be eligible to apply

5 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA CATE:
The CATE scheme is open to all Higher Education providers in the UK, including further Education colleges and independent alternative providers. Each UK Higher education provider can nominate one team that can clearly demonstrate having an impact on teaching and learning through collaboration Each team should demonstrate direct engagement with students. Although there is no requirement for students to be part of the team, a team should demonstrate how students are directly engaged in their work The team leader must not have an active application for NTFS running at the same time as an application for CATE. Staff members of the team must be a Fellow of the HEA or working towards Fellowship

6 NTFS Selection Criteria
Criterion 1 Individual Excellence: Evidence of enhancing and transforming student outcomes and/or the teaching profession; demonstrating impact commensurate with the individual’s context and the opportunities afforded by it.

7 NTFS Selection Criteria
Criterion 2: Raising the profile of excellence Evidence of supporting colleagues and influencing support for student learning and/or the teaching profession; demonstrating impact and engagement beyond the nominee’s immediate academic or professional role

8 NTFS Selection Criteria
Criterion 3: Developing Excellence: Show the nominee’s commitment to and impact of ongoing professional development with regard to teaching and learning and/or learning support. Reviewers will be looking for evidence of reach, value and impact to be demonstrated in the evidence presented within Section B. Please note that each of the three award criteria above is given equal consideration in the assessment process and weighted equally in the overall score.

9 CATE Selection Criteria
Criterion1: Excellence in the team’s collaborative approach Evidence of excellence in the team’s approach to working collaboratively, commensurate with their context and the opportunities afforded by it Criterion 2: Excellence in the impact of collaborative working Evidence of the team having a demonstrable impact on teaching and learning, including beyond their immediate academic or professional area
