When 3rd edition first came out in 2017, it was only an online course. Now, mostly driven by “union constraints” in NYS, they now offer it as a face to face PD, just like 2nd edition (or can do a “blended” model.)

Assessment is no longer a separate module – it is woven throughout each unit
Teaching students with dyslexia is integrated throughout
Teaching ELLs is integrated throughout
Assessment – Module 12 often is never covered at all in 2nd edition training sessions – time runs out…modules 1-10 are covered
Writing – module 11 not covered in training either – now included in volume 2 unit 8
