Please choose 6 gestures and/or facial expressions to discuss your understanding and interpretation for the body language. 哲學三 Tonya Lin (林怡彤)

2 “Happy” – contented or pleased; bring good fortune; apt or appropriate
Happy expressions are universally and easily recognized, and are interpreted as conveying messages related to enjoyment, pleasure, a positive disposition, and friendliness. The woman might has some good things happened, so she feels happy. Because we can see “big smiles” on her face.

3 Fiberglass “Fear” – being afraid of something; excessive anxiety; unpleasant emotion caused by danger or pain Fear expressions convey information about imminent danger, a nearby threat, a disposition to flee, or likelihood of bodily harm. The child feels fear by the fake bear. Although it is not real, he is just a little boy. So we can see he is afraid of the fake bear and feels curious.

4 “Scare” – alarm or panic; to frighten or become frightened
Scare expressions convey information about a sudden feeling or emotion of fear, warning sound or signal. The baby looks really scare, he/she might suddenly see some “unusual” things, and try to says “no!”

5 “Boring” – feeling have no interested in something or something make people sleepy
Boring expressions are universally and easily recognized, and are interpreted as conveying messages that so lacking in interest as to cause mental weariness. The girl might does some “routine tasks” or watches the “dull performance” that can not capture her attention.

6 “Anger” – extreme unhappiness; ire; wrath; make someone angry
Anger is a primary concomitant of interpersonal aggression, and its expression conveys messages about hostility, opposition, and potential attack. In this picture, the boy might has some unhappiness experience with other people. So, from his face, tells us he is angry. We’d better don’t incite him.

7 “Thumbs up” – having positive or desirable qualities; suitable; morally correct or kind; well-behaved; having desirable or beneficial effects The "good" of a thumbs-up is readily recognized in American society. The man might feels something which is good or benefit. So he does the gesture “thumbs up” to expresses his thought.
