Who invented Zetix? Zetix™ helical-auxetic fiber technology – was developed in the United Kingdom by Dr. Patrick Hook , Auxetix Technologies Ltd.,
3
Why was Zetix made? Conventional military tents are extremely vulnerable to attack by enemy forces, and provide little to no ballistic-protection. So now Auxetix is developing Zetix which can be used as liners for the fly sheets. This could significantly reduce the entrance of shrapnel's (from mortars, RPGs and grenades), thus reducing the number of deaths and serious injuries sustained in action.
4
What is Zetix? The basic Zetix fabric is made with a Spectra®-wrapped polyester monofilament and ballistic nylon. This is the only material on the market that automatically adjusts its strength and thickness in response to explosive forces. Zetix is a fibre basically stronger than most metallic armour.
5
What is Zetix? Zetix is a material that is so strong it absorbs and disperses the energy from explosions without breaking. Zetix combines the very expensive high-performance materials with cheaper bulk components in a 1-to-100 ratio while maintaining the blast-resistant properties of the high-performance materials. “The idea that a material could become thicker when stretched out is amazing” says Dr Hook

Uses of Zetix Zetix also can take 1500mph burst from a bomb which is 25% to protect the body. So this means that it is also used mainly for protection. In simulated car bomb testing and grenade testing, Zetix has shown "remarkable resilience," sustaining small damages after eight nearby grenade blasts” said Lentini AFT's ( Advance Fibre Technology) vice president of marketing.
