5 Seeking Information Begin an ‘asking’ question with an interrogative.
Give examples of interrogatives in English Ubi? (Where?) Ubi est insula? Quis? (Who?) Quis in via ambulat? Quid? (What?) Quid spectas?

6 Seeking Yes or No Answer
Examples in English Are you going to the store? Your father went to Hanes High School, didn’t he?

7 In Latin – yes or no questions
Add an –ne ending to the first word to ask a yes/no type question. Estne Europa in Italia? Estne Italia insula? If you expect the answer to be yes, begin with the word nonne. Nonne erat causa vera? (Was that not the true reason?

8 NOTE When adding –ne to end of a word, the word’s accent may change (insulamne). For a word like Corsica, which ends with 2 short syllables, begin the sentence with a different word.
