Next Week…
Maths: We will be continuing to practise our number formation, including lots of work on teen numbers (as these are really tricky!). We will look at addition number sentences and some of us will work on subtraction too.
English: Next week we will be looking at ‘Room on the Broom’. We will be creating our own animal that finds something belonging to the witch and then we will write a sentence (or two…or three!) about it.
This week…
We have been busy practising our number formation, putting numbers in order and finding matching amounts. Some of us have even been challenged with numbers beyond 30!
We have been writing a sentence all about our favourite toy. These are going on a new display in the classroom alongside paintings of our toys.
HOME TASK
Please do another 25 pages in the handwriting book which is in your child’s bookbag.
Reading
Reception Information
It is really important that all children are reading as much as possible at home. Whilst we would like this to happen each night, we do understand that this can be rather tricky. Please aim to read for 5-10 minutes, three times a week with your child and write a comment in their reading journal 

Next Week…
We have begun changing our parental involvement display. Parents will be invited in on Tuesday 17th January from 2:45pm to paint a blossom with their child. If you attended this week you will not need to come and do another one!
