4 The Story of John 11:1-45 Lazarus was sick.
Mary and Martha asked Jesus to heal Lazarus. Lazarus died. Martha met Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” Mary and her friends met Jesus and wept. Jesus wept. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.

Weeping shows that Jesus was true man. Jesus’ humanity: Jesus wept for Lazarus. Jesus’ divinity: Jesus raised him from the dead. Jesus was true man of sorrow. Weeping shows Jesus’ sorrow for people’s pains and sufferings. Jesus felt pains and sufferings when He was whipped and crucified on the cross.

Weeping shows Jesus’ sympathy for people’s loss and helplessness. Jesus was true man of rage. Weeping shows Jesus’ rage against the tyranny of death over mankind.[

I Corinthians 15:55-58 55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
