Fallopian tubes
2 tubes located next to the ovaries but not connected to the ovaries

4. Purpose of the Fallopian Tubes
To catch the egg when it is released by an ovary (random release)
Sperm will travel toward FT to attempt to join with an egg (ova)
If egg is present when sperm arrive – fertilization will occur
Fertilized egg then moves into a tube

5. FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Uterus (womb)
Located between the bladder and the rectum (causing pressure during pregnancy)
Purpose
Nourish the fertilized egg
Organ of menstruation

6. FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Birth canal
Passage from the uterus to the vagina
Cervix
Neck of the uterus

7. FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Vagina
Female organ of sexual intercourse that allows penile penetration (only natural way sperm can enter her reproductive system)
It has considerable stretching ability (size of a fist)
Entrance of the penis and exit of the fetus

9. FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
Clitoris
External organ that provides her physical pleasure during sexual intercourse
