2 Figure 1 Follow-up of benign thyroid nodules. *Only 50 out of 65 nodules that underwent repeat fine needle aspiration (rFNA) had ultrasounds (USs) in our database. Therefore, we could only assess 50 nodules out of 65 for the indication of FNA. Repeat US (rUS) was used to determine whether there was any significant size change or new suspicious US features to justify rFNA. **Twenty-three nodules were low to intermediate risk with no indication for repeat fine needle aspiration by American Thyroid Association guideline criteria.
