She was a Romanian biologist and physician, who discovered the anti-aging effects of procaine, based on the drugs Gerovital H3. She developed a cream, called ASLAVITAL. In 1952, she founded the Geriatric Institute of Bucharest. It was the first geriatric institute in the world and was recognized by the World Health Organisation.

She obtained her M.D. in cardiovascular physiology and she started working on physiology and the process of aging. While she was experimenting the effects of procaine on arthritis, she discovered other beneficial effects of this drug.

After three years of study, she invented a drug called Gerovital H3, which she prescribed for the effects of aging. Two years later, she invented another drug named Aslavital, which was a similar drug to Gerovital and it aimed to delay the skin aging process.

Ana Aslan patented two cosmetic products, which were used by many famous politicians and celebrities around the world, including John F. Kennedy, Tito, Charles de Gaulle, Salvador Dali, Marlene Dietrich, Charlie Chaplin, Kirk Douglas, Indira Gandhi, Hrusciov.
