Why are they bad for the environment?
​Dog poop bags are harming out environment because most of them are made out of plastic. As most of us know plastic is very harmful for our environment as it does not really leave our planet once we throw it in the trash. Many people have dogs meaning they all use plastic dog poop bags to clean up after their dogs. 500 billion to 1 trillion dog bags are used each year and that is a lot of new plastic.​

What is a better type of dog bag?​
As most dog bags are made from plastic there are not many options you can get. Although some brands have started selling biodegradable bags, you can not always trust these companies. A much better option would be to use brown paper bags instead of buying the original plastic dog poop bag. This is much more environmentally friendly.​
Why is it important to recycle?
Recycling is very important, this is because waste and plastics have a massive negative impact on the environment especially our oceans. From the plastic documentary watched I have been trying to do my best to properly recycle. I think that if more people started using paper bags instead of plastic bags for their dogs and in general it would help the environment in some way. Bad greenhouse gases can also be released from these plastic bags and when we don’t recycle. ​
