2 Third Amendment No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. What act passed by the British was the third amendment a direct response to?

3 Fourth Amendment The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

4 While reading about each court case answer the following on your chart…
For each case, answer the following questions: A.  What was the background for each case? B.  How did the 4th Amendment apply to the case? C.  What was the ruling of the court? In the center:  What do the cases have in common?
