6 TEN-T.. the economic lifeblood of the single market, allowing a real free flow of goods and people around the EU. EU financing for transport has tripled to €26 billion for the period (compared to €8 billion for ), under the new Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) focus the funding along 9 major EU transport corridors amounts to the most radical overhaul of EU transport infrastructure policy since its inception in the 1980s. The new core network, to be established by 2030, will connect: - 94 main European ports with rail and road links - 38 key airports with rail connections into major cities - 15,000 km of railway line upgraded to high speed - 35 cross border projects to reduce bottlenecks

7 Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T)
Secure parking locations for commercial vehicles as important components of road infrastructure EU legislation requires Member States to install Secure truck parking locations every 100 km on the Core TEN-T network An appropriate level of Safety and Security Esporg meeting Bonn, January 25, 2017

8 Finding a secure parking place with refence to minimum rest and maximum driving limits
Escape is possible: Regulation (EC) 561/2006 article 12 in combination with Guidance Note 1 This enables drivers to find a suitable stopping place, however only allowed under strict conditions based on Guidance Note 1 Only allowed in cases where it unexpectedly becomes impossible to comply with the Regulation Unfortunately enforcement of article 12 is very diverse within the EU member states Substantial risks of very high fines for transport hauliers not being compliant with driving and rest time rules Esporg meeting Bonn, January 25, 2017

9 Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
Implementation across the EU Contribution to Security TEN-T combined with ITS Provision of information and reservation services for secure parking places Historic information has to be logged. This will provide evidence to law enforcement that parking places were unavailable at the recorded time Esporg meeting Bonn, January 25, 2017
