1 Question of the Day What is the effect of salt on the melting and boiling point of water? When salt is added to ice, would a physical or chemical change occur? How do you know?

2 Revisit Salt causes the melting point of ice to decrease. Can be used in defrosting icy roads and making ice cream. Salt causes the boiling point of ice to increase. Can be used in cooking so that food will cook faster. Adding salt to water causes a physical change because the salt can be separated if the water is evaporated off by heating the solution.
