6 STALINGRAD Aug 1942-Feb 1943 Major industrial city in Southern Russia. Hitler ordered troops to take the city at all costs (500,000 troops). Soviets trapped German army inside city. 90,000 Germans surrendered. TURNING POINT! (USSR now advances toward Germany)
