2 Light Context clue: When I turned on the light, I could read the book.
Definition: A form of energy that can be seen.

3 Light beam Context clue: The flashlight gave off a strong light beam.
Definition: Light rays all going in one direction.

4 emit Context clue: The dying light bulb emits low light.
Definition: To give off light.

5 Bounce Context clue: The light bounced off the rocks.
Definition: A way of describing how light changes direction after hitting an object.

6 reflect Context clue: The mirror reflected the girl’s image.
Definition: For light to bounce off a smooth surface

7 Opaque Context clue – The thick, opaque curtains blocked the light from coming into the bedroom. Definition – a material that light cannot pass through

8 Translucent Context clue – The balloons were translucent. Definition – a material that light can partially pass through

9 Transparent Context clue – The window was so clean it was transparent Definition – a material that light can pass through

10 scatter Context clue: The disco ball scattered light all over the walls. Definition: What happens when light bounces off an object in many directions.

11 Mirror-like reflection
Context clue: After the shoes were polished, there was a mirror-like reflection. Definition: When light bounces back towards its source, in the opposite direction.
