1 Using Abyasa to complete a Review of Progress Meeting (weekly) Professional Journey File Section 2 Associate Teacher Assessment /Review Please also refer the guidance for the review of Progress Meeting (weekly) in the Mentor Guide and the additional PowerPoint available on this site

2 Adding the review of Progress meeting (weekly) to Abyasa
The web address for Abyasa is: As a mentor you will be invited to join Abyasa, by the AT The Abyasa Login screen looks like this . The Associate Teacher uses his / her student number and personal password to gain access. Then click Log in

3 On the Home page, click Add and select Mentor Meeting from the drop down menu and select unscheduled observation and click Add

4 The item will appear as Weekly Review of Progress, with a heading of ‘unscheduled’. Anything that is scheduled will appear on the Abyasa system at specific points, such as the more formal Interim and Final review documents. Anything that the AT adds will be ‘unscheduled.’ Click ‘Add’ and the document will appear on the Home page.

5 This needs to be linked to the AT’s current placement using the dropdown menu.
Class teacher or subject mentor details need to be added. Click Save and Continue The AT should have completed Parts 1, 2 and 3 before the meeting and should inform the mentor that the drafted form is available on Abyasa. Having these sections completed provides the mentor with an ‘agenda’ for discussion.

6 Once added to the AT’s Home screen the word Prep or Review or Complete will appear in the bottom left corner indicate the stages of completion Prep – the document has been added Review – information has been added but it is not yet finished Complete – the document has the relevant sections and signatures all filled in

7 Part 1 – the AT should be completed before the meeting with the mentor
Part 1 – the AT should be completed before the meeting with the mentor. The AT can upload documents to each target that become part of the discussion and review of progress.

8 Part 2 – Review of School-based Learning
Again, the AT should have completed this section ahead of the meeting. The information discussed and progress identified.

9 Part 3 – Mentor and Associate teacher discussion
Part 3 – Mentor and Associate teacher discussion. Again the AT should have completed this section – bullet points are acceptable. During your meeting the discussion is around knowing how what the AT has taught had impacted on pupil learning – how do we know the children have made progress?

10 Part 4 – Target Setting. After the discussion, mentor and AT decide on targets for the following week. These need to be linked to a sub-Standard, actions and success criteria agreed. Additional guidance and support for target setting is available in the Mentor Guide, available on the Professional Journey site.

11 Part 5. Part 5 does not appear on Abyasa, so please complete the hard copy or a word copy.
