3. Video Game
Is an electronic game that creates an artifical game environment on a video screen.

4. Video Game Designer
Is a person involved in creating a video game.

5. Virtual World
Is the imaginary world created by computers.

6. Constructive Criticism
Is positive reinforcement and offering possible improvements.

7. Hard Skills Are the technical requirements for a job They are:
math, reading, writing, computer programming, art, graphic design, keyboarding, etc.

8. Imagination
Is the act of creating a picture in your mind of something that does not exist or is not where you can see, hear, smell, or touch.

9. Game Engine
A system designed for the creation of video games and development.

10. Technical writing
Is creating documents in a precise manner that gives directions for the steps and processes needed in design.
Examples: letters, memos, game manuals, etc.

11. Narrative Writing Is a story! Examples:
scripting for the story of the game,
Storyboards.

12. Dialog
What characters say!
Is a type or narrative writing.

13. Storyboard Is a graphical plan of action. Examples:
Simple drawing of a scene and quick detail about the action.

14. Research Finding out about an object, place, or thing.
The process of getting information.
Examples:
Going to stores
Surveying game players
Going to trade shows
Creating an interactive blog

15. Soft skills Are your people skills!
Are personal qualitites and behaviors that help create better personal and interpersonal skills.

16. Aesthetic Competence
Is the ability to determine what is pleasing to the eye.
Examples:
Character sketches
Backgrounds

17. Multicultural Expo Project
The Really Cool Game Company celebrates the cultural diversity of its workforce. It believes that part of the strength of a team is the opinions of those with different backgrounds and cultural perspectives. The company holds an annual showcase called a Multicultural Expo. Each employee creates a single slide that displays a personal picture and some cultural information. The slides are displayed for all to view.

18. To do:
Open PowerPoint.
Create one slide using PowerPoint word art, clip art, pictures from the Internet and pictures from a digital camera ( I have the camera….come and see me.)
Produce a cultural representation of yourself. You may include multiple nationalities to describe yourself, if you desire. You must include:
Flag of your ancestral country of origin.
Map of the nation.
Picture of something unique to that culture.
You name, photograph, and the name of any pictured nationality or culture.
List the unit of currency and the value compared to the U.S. dollar.
Print the slide on a single sheet of paper.
Post your slide printout on the wall of the classroom. Come and get the tape!
